I was just recently asked, "Why the name Black Knight Brotherhood?" Please my Black Knight Brothers tell me how you feel about my response: It symbolizes going against the grain and being scrutinized for maintaining positions or points of view that are unpopular, more specifically the term "Black Knight" has been recently coined by our community of activists supporting our cause for fathers and children as the contrary position to a White Knight, (a term recently coined to describe one who defends a cause they deem a good one by charging in with out first examining the situation as it could be a situation of irony) it also conveniently challenges the notions of color as paralleled to good and evil, a notion many black people have found a bit off putting. Further more it resembles the tarnished and blackened mental bodies of those who press on through the recent trials and tribulations they face as men, fathers, and children of fathers. In general it is a statement of being bold enough to defy what is expected by society and achieve what one knows in their own heart to be good, despite the colors they are painted with. -The Silverman
