I will never understand people who call a newsroom, in a blind - TopicsExpress

I will never understand people who call a newsroom, in a blind rage, and insist that were heartless and disrespectful to victims families. I will never understand their refusal to listen and fervent desire to tear me down for doing my job. I will never understand the mindset that journalists are emotionless and disconnected. I am none of those things and would never act that way toward a stranger. To the person who just called our newsroom, shaming us for doing our job? Im so sorry for what you are going through. Ive lost loved ones, but never in a public manner. What I couldnt explain to you over your shouting was this; we grieve too. Anytime there is a death, and there has been more than enough for my liking, we grieve with the community. This particular situation, and others in the recent past, affect our newsroom staff directly. To say, with complete and utter conviction, that we are disrespecting the victims family is absurd. Its hurtful. Most of all, it is completely against the very ethical nature of our industry. We dont need the ratings. We dont want the attention that badly. This is an awful story with no right side. Even if someone is arrested for the murder of these two people, there is no peace. Justice is served, but those people are not coming back. Our community is a little darker with two lights extinguished. I hope the Devin family finds as much peace as they can right now. My heart is filled with a deep sadness. I cant imagine what they are going through.
