I would ask that people not make sweeping statements about American millennials being entitled, lazy, selfish, or apathetic. Anyone who says such things has no sense of solidarity with us, and they are not really paying attention. They are judging our generation (rather, an incomplete perception of it) from a moral high ground, where ones viewpoint is sorely limited. Perhaps they ought to do the work of seeking out, listening to, and supporting those of us who are working in the interest of our local and global community, while surviving and elevating ourselves in the wake of modern America and all the troubling truths about it.
