IF YOURE NOT THERE LORD, I WONT BE EITHER! And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way... And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name (Ex 33:1-3,15-17). The Lord just informed Moses that He would no longer be leading the children of Israel into the land that He promised to them as a result of their continual rebellion and disobedience. He further informed Moses that He would allow an angel to take them into the land of promise instead. But Moses lovingly told the Lord, ...if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. What I find so powerful about what Moses said is the reverence, respect and honor that Moses possessed for the presence of Almighty God. God never told Moses that He wouldnt RELEASE THE PROMISES TO THEM, He just said that HIS PRESENCE WOULD NOT ACCOMPANY THEM. Moses understood a truth that we as a church body must learn in this hour. What many of us (the church) need revelation of is, although we may possess Gods PROMISES, Gods PROVISION and Gods PROTECTION, WE ARE STILL ABSOLUTELY NOTHING/FRUITLESS/FUTILE WITHOUT GODS PRESENCE! Dearly beloved, IF GOD ISNT IN THE MIDST OF US, WE ARE STILL AT BEST LESS THAN VANITY! EVERY ENDEAVOR WE PUT OUR HANDS TO WITHOUT GODS PRESENCE WILL EVENTUALLY COLLAPSE AND COME TO NOTHING! Although Moses was a prophet, received the Law of God, approached the Holy Mount of God, spoke face to face with God and led the people of God, HE NEVER FORGOT THAT HE WAS NOTHING WITHOUT GOD! For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? (Ex 33:16). When Moses heard from the Lord that he and Israel could still have the promise, but He would no longer have the Lord among them, Moses said, If you dont go, dont take us. Moses knew that although he possessed great leadership abilities, a ministry of great miracles, and an outstanding name , he still didnt rely on HIS SKILL, KNOWLEDGE or HIS POWER, but continued to RELY ON GODS SPIRIT (PRESENCE)! He knew that the only difference between the people of God and the other surrounding nations was the presence of God among them. To take away the presence of God was to take away everything. This is the place where the Lord is calling us as His people to return to. He wants us as a church to return again to the simplicity of seeking His presence, following His lead and being content with His results. The scriptures are so clear, Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain (Psalms 127:1). What the psalmist is expressing here is, unless the presence of God is among us as we build, the building is vain. This doesnt mean that something wont get done, but what it does mean is, things will not get done according to Gods blueprint. Who in their right minds want to be apart of anything that the presence of God is not FOR SURE leading in this deceptive hour? I know I dont! As for me and my house we are going to serve the Lord! The problem is, many of our leadership have become slothful and full of themselves. They no longer have the presence of God among their assemblies because many of them dont have the presence of the Lord in their private and home lives. Truth be told, many of our leaders have become complacent and have not guarded and protected that precious thing (Gods Presence) which was entrusted to them. They have lived lightly and have refused to respond to the loving rebukes of Gods Spirit. As a result they are on their own. They still preach about Jesus, talk about Him and some even write books about Him, but they are indifferent to Him. They have left their First Love and have withered like a flower without water. There is no longer life among them because they have allowed OTHER THINGS to have preeminence over their relationship with Christ, rather than become subordinate to it. This isnt a rebuke to our leadership, but its Gods heart for our leadership. He wants to send a reminder from whence we have fallen, so we can repent and do the first works (seeking His face and obeying His voice). We as Moses must not desire to be in any assembly where the presence of God does not rule. We can not afford to sit under teachers and preachers who are more concerned about the football game, politics and worldly television shows than they are about cultivating a relationship with Jesus and presenting and preparing our hearts from where the Holy Spirit can rule. We are not living in times where we can afford any longer to be nonchalant. So much is in the balance. Our leadership MUST return again to the prayer closet and dont leave it until the presence of God is with them. I am persuaded that within this hour, the life and glory of God shall be manifested in the earth in measures unheard of. Not because of the MINISTRY of the pastors, the prophets, apostles or others, but simply because OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD! We give God thanks for the five-fold, but the five-fold without the presence of God has ZERO POWER! People want the real deal now and we cant get any more real deal than the presence of Almighty God. We must determine in this hour, if the Lord isnt in a thing, we wont be either. The time has come to sanctify ourselves wholly unto the Lord! May the Lord Himself be lifted up in every assembly in this nation and afar off! Oh God if YOU dont go, we wont either! Even so come Lord Jesus.
