IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTION We recall the Lagos accord of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) brokered through the auspices of Elder T.K Ogoriba and Honourable Kingsley Kuku following the contentious October 2013 national convention. That accord cemented peace at the IYC with an agreement on a fresh election of IYC executives immediately after the February 2015 presidential elections. As a peace-loving people we expect the players and stakeholders to Honour the terms of the Lagos accord. It is in the light of above and the commencement of the countdown to the elections that we use this medium to call on Comrade Jeremiah Owoupele to contest the position of president of the IYC. THE MAN - JEREMIAH OWOUPELE The antecedent of Jeremiah Owoupele surely places him as the ideal candidate for the IYC presidency. He is a barrister and a one-time spokesman for the Ijaw Youth Council. He is a patriot. Jeremiah is loved and admired by Ijaw youths from all walks of life. As a public servant in the amnesty office of the presidency, he has contributed immesely to the growth and development of Ijaw youths and the Ijaw nation at large. With a calm and educated mind, he is accommodating and would make a good president of the IYC. We therefore call on him to formally declare to contest the position of IYC president in the forthcoming elections
