INDIA JAIPUR POLICE ARRESTED ONE PERSON WHO DUPED 78 JOB SEEKERS BY COLLECTING RS. 40000/-FROM EACH ON THE PRETEXT OF PROMISING JOBS IN UNITED ARAB EMIRATES AND HE ALSO PROVIDED TICKET INSURANCE VISA PAPERS TO 12 PERSONS BUT WHEN THEY REACHED KOLKATA AIRPORT ALL WERE FOUND FAKE TNN | Jul 19, 2013, 02.18 AM IST Kendrapada: Jajpur Police have unearthed a fake job racket with the arrest of a person, who allegedly hoodwinked 78 youths of the district by promising them jobs in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The accused, Anil Kumar Jena, was produced in court on Thursday and remanded in judicial custody. Jena was arrested after some youths lodged an FIR at Bari police station on Wednesday. Basanta Kumar Giri of Nathpur village had got a job offer from Jena to work as a mechanic in Abu Dhabi at a monthly salary of Rs 50,000. Another youth of the village, Pradeep Kumar Giri, had got a similar offer, which also included free food and accommodation. Jena allegedly collected Rs 40,000 each from the 78 unemployed youths. Around 12 of them were provided copies of air tickets, visa papers and insurance papers. After reaching Kolkata airport on Monday, they realized that Jena had duped them."We are investigating whether more people are in the racket," said IIC of Bari police station S Kanungo. Jena has been booked under different Sections of IPC for cheating, forgery and misappropriation, the IIC added. Jena is a native of Nosta village under Kadamapala gram panchayat. The duped youths met collector (Jajpur) Anil Kumar Samal on Thursday and narrated him their plight. "He has assured to help us," said Basanta. As many as 127 plumbers of Jajpur were duped of Rs 1 crore by an agent in Delhi last year. He was later arrested from Delhi.
