Date: Friday 28th of June 2013 ISSUED AT:05:08PM RAINFALL FORECAST OVER TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO WITHIN THE NEXT 6-8 HOURS Trinidad and Tobago are currently experiencing few cloudy periods with accompanying rain and showers. Numerical Weather Prediction Models forecast conditions to deteriorate, particularly over Trinidad, within the next six (6) to eight (8) hours with intermittent rain and showers some of which would be moderate to heavy and at times thundery. This rainfall activity is due to the passage of a Tropical Wave. Intermittent rain, showers and thundershowers, are forecast to continue for the next twelve (12) to eighteen (18) hours. Rainfall accumulations are forecast to be between 30 to 40 millimetres. Noting the amount of rainfall that is forecast to occur, the possibility of moderate to severe cases of localized street and flash flooding is likely in the vicinity of prolonged rainfall or heavy downpours. Gusty winds in excess of 45 km/hr at times are also likely. Citizens are advised to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities. WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING. The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring this weather situation and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants
