Id like to make an official announcement that Nathan Stroud and myself will be organizing weekly Melee and Project M tournaments (with the possible addition of Smash for the Wii U depending on how well the others work). These tournaments will mostly likely occur on Saturday evenings (or whatever time seems to work best for the most people). Additionally these tournaments are not limited in terms of entrants or skill level. Anyone and everyone is welcome and the more people who enter the better! Nathan and I have already discussed this a decent amount and weve worked out most of the details. We plan on creating a point system to develop power rankings (which has to be based off of how many entrants each tournament has because the more stacked it is the more points there should be). Im thinking that this point system will have to work in a fashion that is similar to a Mario Kart grand prix. First place receives 10 points and 2nd receives 8 and so on. However I was thinking wed do first place gets 100 and second gets 80 because big numbers are more fun. However if a tournament turns out small the point pot will have to be decreased accordingly.
