“If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” (Romans 12:18) It is difficult, but not impossible, to be at peace even with those who hate and revile you. The Lord stood alone that day when He went to the cross, but did not utter a word against those who were persecuting Him. We too are given the power through the Holy Spirit to do what is right in every circumstance if we do not lean on our own understanding, but upon the very Word of God which saves us. Lord, help me not sinfully react in situations, where I breathe down curses on those who do wrong, but instead learn to be at peace in every situation. Guide my heart to see what is right and then guide me to do what is right. Help me, I pray, to understand and believe that You will lead me in the way I should go and then by faith, take me to Your place of peace. Thank You, Lord, for giving me the power in Your Spirit to live at peace in the hostile world. Help me live in that peace today, knowing that there will be trials and temptations along the way today. Guide my heart to seek You in every time of trial, knowing that You will lead me through every trial to be at peace with others and You. Thank You, Lord, for always being in my life each step along the way. Amen.
