If you havent yet submitted your ideas or cast your votes for a bicycle centric transportation system, you have 3 days left to make your voice heard! This is really important because MDOT and all the regional planning organizations are looking for user input and priorities to update the 2040 plan - that means that our input over the next few days could impact the next 25 years of planning! Simply go to mississippitransportationplan.mindmixer/ and post your ideas and/or vote for ideas that have already been submitted. With only 3 days left to submit your ideas, we must show our Transportation leaders in Mississippi that we need MULTIMODAL options and that bicycle and pedestrian needs be taken into account in the overall Transportation system. If you have a new idea to submit: Do it today! If you dont have a new idea but want to show your support, go and VOTE for one of the bike/ped related ideas already submitted. There are several already listed and these ideas need your vote! For example, some of the ideas you can vote for include: 1. MS needs a Statewide Comprehensive Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan 2. Statewide Complete Streets Policy with Implementation and Incentives 3. Compliance with 2011 Rumble Strip Policy (i.e. a vote NOT to put rumble strips in the middle of the shoulder!)! 4. Increased Bike Lanes 5. Increased Recreational Paths and more idea suggested by advocates statewide! This is how we cyclists show what we want! PLEASE VOTE TODAY!
