If youre selling a new offering in 2015, heres what I want you to remember: Its ALL about positioning & packaging. 1. The first step is to figure out where your edge is; where your angle is. Whats your position? 2. And then, the second step is figuring out how can you take that position, and package it in a way that makes it easy, fun, tangible, digestible and exciting. For example, there are a million copywriters out there. There are also a million businesses that need copywriting. How do you bridge the gap? First, you figure out where your edge is. And maybe she calls it 4 Hours to Save the World. (A play on the Madonna & Timberlake Song, 4 Minutes to Save the World.) Hand over fist, this approach will help the right people make the right choice, choosing to spend money with you because youve crafted something specifically FOR them. Which is a hell of a lot more compelling than a jack-of-all-trades generalist copywriter whose website claims to offer services for small and large companies alike crafting web content, SEO, naming, website copy, sales pages, blog posts, and more! Positioning & packaging isnt just a fancy term for big companies; its a strategy to quickly resonate with the right people in a world full of thousands screaming to get heard above the noise.
