Im boggled by the parenting that somehow didnt get done. When we talk about men not understanding (and even denying) the scope of the physical and psychological violence faced by women day in and day out, it is a very straight forward issue: lack of empathy. Didnt everybodys parents nag them constantly about how would you feel if some one did that do you? I mean, my jeeez, it was the most common thing to come out of my mothers mouth! So...what happened? How have we not taught/learned that what would horrify and frighten some one else would likely horrify and frighten us, were we in their situation? My children receive their highest praise when they stand up for others, when they protect or assist those in need. Because greater love hath no man... Men and women, be heroes. Stand up for one another. Protect and defend one another. I tell my kids, and now I tell you, too: No matter who the bad guy is, you be the hero. #YesAllWomen #YesAllMen #YesAllHeroes
