Im posing a couple of questions here for Joyce Guthrie, Chmn of the GDCAs Companion Events Committee. Ill report back your responses. Joyce wants to know how we can increase attendance at Dane specific agility events, specifically the National, but potentially sponsored through regional Dane organizations. 1. If you have attended a National & entered agility, what did you like & what would you change? Please specify year/location. 2. What would it take for you to bring your dog to a GDCA sponsored event? Is distance the big deal breaker? Would you come if just one agility trial & a small entry? Or would you want a normal weekend trial to show up? Would Dane only be best choice or is a larger event with Dane specific prizes ok? 3. How important is it for you to also be able to participate in other companion events like rally & obedience? How important is it to you to be able to also show in breed? Would you support a separate national for companion events as a group? What about a stand alone GDCA agility exclusive weekend just for Danes? Thank you. Any other comments &/or suggestions greatly appreciated.
