In 1969-1970 I was a senior at West High trying to break in to the Rockford music scene and a fan of Forest City Sound, Pagans, etc. We put together a six-piece called the X-Change and played several high school dances, but as seniors we all went our separate ways. Three of us (drums, keys, lead vocal) discovered a sound as a trio and for the next year played steadily at the Sheraton Beloit, College Inn, and Twin Oaks. Didnt make much of a splash here, but built some chops for my next six years with Alpha and Omega and later Flagship. I kept clippings from the local Rockford music rags.
