In 1970, Harvard University conducted the largest publicly-sponsored marijuana research experiment in U.S. history. The results of the experiment were reported in the study, “Marijuana: A Signal of Misunderstanding,” and reincarnated into one test subject’s insider story, "No Compelling Reason." It was the first marijuana experiment to use civilian subjects; only a revolutionary experiment resulting in cold, hard scientific facts could convince policymakers to alter existing drug laws and criminal codes. William Boudreau was one of these test subjects.
