In 2008, the United States Federal Government threatened to fine - TopicsExpress

In 2008, the United States Federal Government threatened to fine Yahoo! $250,000 a day for not complying with their PRISM program. Yahoo!, along with 9 other companies, filed a lawsuit; initially refusing to transmit and monitor their users communications (e-mails, chat, ect...) for the governments NSA [citizen monitoring] program. These companies attempted to protect citizen rights by protecting their privacy, but the federal government was more concerned about recording our activity and conversation. The lawsuit began in 2007, with other attempts of protection for the people, but coincidentally, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (government) were the ones holding the final say. The funny part is, the government treats the people the same way. They create the law and then they themselves enforce the dictatorship and have the final say on your fate according to what they say you may or may not do. Do you still think America is the Land of the Free?
