In August of 2010, I had a life changing-altering experience while on the Wabash River. That is the day that Mark Kirby and I drove my boat into a mess of Asian Carp. We shot a video of hundreds of them jumping around, and in our boat. A few days after shooting the video, I uploaded a rough cut version to my purplepug site. I sent an email to about 14 people. Within a few days, over 10,000 people watched it. I then uploaded it to Youtube. Within 1 month of it being online, over 1,000.000 views. A story on WTWO was shot, and went syndicated. It was then on all national network news and the cable networks. This resulted in the video being viewed millions of times within a few days. It was the #1 viewed video for a week in Australia, 500,000 views within 6 hours on Break and I can go on and on. My assumption was that everyone has seen it. Well, in light of the river videos I have posted this week, and the responses by people posting other asian carp videos on my page (sorry, I dont allow people to post on my page), I have realized that you may not have seen it. The video spurred many copycat ones, and has made many people lots of money by stealing it, and uploading it as their own. I am sharing the link of the original video. You will notice less than 2 million views. That is not accurate. About 10 million on youtube is more like it. Watch with some friends, turn up the volume, and of course please feel free to share. youtu.be/qfG4vsJ5_xI
