In a half an hour Ill be 41 years old. My mom, on the same day, would have been 66 years old. Many grown ups talk about how a kid should have their own special day--to share a birthday with someone wouldnt be good. I have to disagree. I loved sharing my birthday with my mom. I felt very special sitting on her lap (in the early years), and later sitting besides her while everyone sang us happy birthday. The only year I didnt like it was when she turned 40 and I turned 15. She was crabby that day. :) Love you Mom so much. Youve been gone 17 years now, but I still miss you with my whole heart. When you died, I lost my best friend. Someone who I loved to make happy. Someone who was proud of me and wasnt afraid to show it. I lost the person I could rely on with my whole being. You always loved me. You never held grudges. You never disappointed, and you never abandoned me. Happy birthday Mom. Im glad I knew you for as long as I did. I just wish I could have known you longer.
