"In addition to this, Obama is beginning to ramp up his “war on coal.” According to Wynton Hall, of Brietbart: “Obama’s plan will crack down on emissions even further, give $8 billion in taxpayer money to fund loan guarantees for energy projects, and allocate $7 billion to finance foreign climate mitigation and adaptation projects, reports The Times.” 1. Coal provides millions of jobs for the United States. Many people will lose their jobs if the Obama administration attempts to take an axe to the coal industry. 2. In the end, what does the destruction of the coal industry get us? What is the benefit? Nothing. Global emissions have risen steadily over the last 15 years, while the average temperature of the planet has remained steady. The theory of anthropogenic global warming has been steadily losing credibility over the last few years (if it had any to begin with), and taking out a hit on the coal industry will not help it regain validity. 3. Taking aim at coal simply helps boost Obama’s image in the eyes of extreme environmentalists, low-information voters, and hipsters; while tearing a chunk out of our economy. It would actively hurt us, while helping Obama. 4. A President enlisting celebrities to help sell a shoddy product is like a doctor bringing out a clown to tell his patient that they have cancer. It’s a distraction; and a pathetic one at that. 5. Why Americans love celebrity endorsements seriously boggles the mind. We have developed a culture that worships people because they are good at acting, singing, and being generally famous. Somehow, a person’s ability in the arts makes them an expert on a variety of policy issues. How about this: instead of listening to the people who have money enough to not worry about the cost of Obamacare, we listen to our own instincts? How about we use our own brains to suss out fact from fiction?
