In case you’ve just tuned in Hi, my name is Tara Kapp, the Business Development Coordinator for R.M. Stoudt, Inc., Jamestown. Since we began our Test Drive Tuesday reports a couple of months ago we’ve gained some new “likers” so I felt the need to reintroduce myself. For those of you who know me this TDT report will be fitting. For those of you who don’t I’m here to let you in on a little secret: I’m a truck gal! When I questioned the boss as to what I should drive today I was asked “Have you tested an F150 yet” to which I answered “No, what would you like me to take?” Little did I know I wasn’t going to be given the keys to just any F150. No sir or madam. The Raptor SVT keys were put in my palm and the last thing I heard as I roared away was “Have fun….”. Right – as if I couldn’t! The Ford F150 has been the best-selling, full size truck in the United States for over 30 years. Millions of truck buyers can’t be wrong. So Ford decided to give truck enthusiasts yet another option for their 4x4 tastes – The Raptor. Ford introduced the high performance F150 Raptor in 2010 and the popularity has simply sky rocketed and for good reason. The Raptor takes the convenience and necessities of a truck and pairs them with the off-road wants and the “no terrain can stop me” thoughts of the driver. First, the conveniences and necessities. The room and comfort of the Raptor is simply perfect. The seats invite you (and your body) to just say “ahhh”, the leg room, both front and back, is welcoming to all who pack in and the available storage is just plain handy. Take a look at the center console. Deep storage compartment with a top tray for all sorts of goodies, USB and power plugs in for your gadgets as well as pen and media storage on the inner lid. Soccer moms and desert racers alike will all appreciate these little additions. The standard necessities include a removable tailgate with key lock and lift assist, cargo box tie downs, power side mirrors complete with driver’s side integrated mirror, 110 volt inverter, skid plates, front and rear tow hooks and so much more. And now to the off-road wants and back to those of you who know me. Not only am I a truck gal, I’m a racing truck gal. In my “spare” time I race mud trucks. So for those of you who know me you’ll understand how hard it was for me not to find a pit and hit the throttle. I was simply itchin’ to put this Raptor to the test! Someday I may get my chance but for now I’ll simply explain that the Raptor was created to take to the grocery store AND on an off-road trek. It’s MADE to be put to the test. From the Fox Racing Shocks to the 35” all terrains, the SVT front controller arms to the skid plates and everything in between, this truck simply taunts you to let it show you what it can do. The question should then be asked, are you ready to let it? Once my co-workers pried my hands off the steering wheel and the keys out of my palms they were able to get the Raptor back on our front door parking pad and ready for you to take it on your own test drive, of course, on any day that ends in Y. https://facebook/media/set/?set=a.605047392850336.1073741851.114905415197872&type=3
