In the recent past, Blair, my American friend who graduated from Harvard University, taught me the principles or conventions that should be known and applied while writing fiction. He said: “Fiction is art. And you can only write like a professional when you have mastered the principles. For instance, you don’t jump into your plot. Rather you introduce your character and it becomes your hook; do more of showing than telling. Be mindful of your viewpoint narrator in any paragraph. Use identifiers when starting a dialogue, and there should be breaks between the lines. Cut commonplace, informative, melodramatic and hard to follow dialogue…” Special thanks to Blair. I pray I sit across from you someday in the future. And because God is up there, He will direct my path. Once again, thank you. Elechi Amadi has reviewed my recent manuscript----a novel. He wrote and signed: “A fascinating nostalgic work” Elechi Amadi, The Concubine. The comment in itself is encouraging. And destiny, in actuality, is at work. Sure. It is time for my editor to do some work. And before long, the bomb will explode. The boy has become a man. A big smile! Focus is magnetic, in truth. Ekere diri chineke.
