Martin Luther King Jr. was the major threat to the U.S. government and the American establishment because he dared to organize and mobilize black rage over past and present crimes against humanity targeting black folk and other oppressed people. Wests essay is the introduction to a new Beacon Press collection, The Radical King. West will be the Ware Lecturer at the 2015 General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association in Portland, Oregon, in June.
