In two more days my life will change. For the good or the bad, I - TopicsExpress

In two more days my life will change. For the good or the bad, I will handle the outcome and still be standing. However my children stand to suffer greatly. You see my ex wife will not split our marital assets (NYS is a 50:50 state) and would rather see strangers buy them at 40% of their value. As of Friday afternoon (2 more days) the divorce court judge will order ALL of our properties sold at a sheriffs auction. He will pay off the marital debt and divide the balance 50/50 between my ex wife and I. I have bought and built many rentals, homes, and purchased land to use as a nest egg to pay for my childrens college, their wedding, and my retirement. My oldest daughter Sienna and my sister Misty have tried to mediate a solution so that Sienna would have a home to come back to, while in college, and my youngest daughter Shane a home to live in while going to high school. My ex wife decided she wanted nearly all properties and assets valued at close to $1,600,000 (with a debt of only $109,000 for a net equity of $1,491,000) And leave me with a single property appraised at $200,000 that has loans and debt of $160,000 for a net equity of $40,000). Unless I agree to that settlement she would rather have the properties sold at the Sherriff auction than to allow her children to have a home. It is funny how some people will do whatever it takes to make someone else suffer, including taking the home away from your own children that they grew up in their whole lives. I can start over and have no problem doing just that. My girls stand to lose a part of their history, a part of who they are.
