Inevitable? Yes, maybe eventually. Keep in mind that baby-step pseudo decriminalization legislation on medical cannabis has been introduced in every Texas legislature session over the last eight years. In only one of those sessions did it make it out of committee, and even then, the republicans refused to let it reach the floor for a debate. Dan Patrick, Greg Abbott, and the far right social conservative authoritarian groups that control the Republican Party of Texas are so heavily invested in their stupid war on a silly plant, they are afraid to even allow a fair debate on it. Doing so would reveal the fundamental and intentional dishonesty of their argument in favor of treating cancer victims like violent criminals. As long as the Republican Party of Texas is controlled by immoral authoritarian cowards, there will be no serious discussion about more reasonable policies. Worse still, there will be no voter referendums either, because Texas republicans dont care what the people they rule think if it happens to contradict their suppressive ideology.
