Interns . On occasion apprenticeships are good . Internships, however , have gotten to the point of exploitation and they depress the wage scale for all. I asked an intern about the art exhibit at the museum , where she was stationed . She did not know where the art was because she was just an intern. Is there a map of the museum ? I asked. She did not know, check our web site she told me. I asked her finally in desperation well , can you direct me to the public restroom ? No, she replied , because she only interns a couple of hours , two days a week. She never uses the public restroom . Interns that do not even know where a the toilet is located , what is the point ? college credits ? salary suppression , we are becoming an idiot factory . If a job is worth doing , then it is worth doing well. If a job is well done , it should be well compensated.
