Interviews start this Saturday! A few more writers to introduce. I love that I get to include this writer in 2015: Tim Cope. An Australian adventurer, award winning author, filmmaker, trekking guide, who taught himself to speak fluent Russian and specializes in countries of the former Soviet Union. Hes a traveler who goes to wild places.Copes expeditions include riding on horseback from Mongolia to Hungary which spanned over three years, and 10,000 km; rowing a boat down the Yenisei River in Siberia to the Arctic Ocean and riding a recumbent bicycle 10,000 km across Russia to Beijing. His books: He was a contributor to Lonely Planets Guide to the Middle of Nowhere; and he wrote two epic travelogues, (1) Off the Rails: Moscow to Beijing by Bike; and his latest book, (2) On the Trail of Genghis Khan, An Epic Journey through the Land of Nomads. His recent book is about a 6,000 miles trip on horseback across the Eurasian steppe from Mongolia, through Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Ukraine, to Hungary. Hes also a filmmaker, and has made films about his journeys including as director and cinematographer of Off the Rails: On the Back Roads to Beijing, and filmed The Yenisey Expedition co-produced by National Geographic Channel. He also directed and filmed a documentary film of On the Trail of Genghis Khan. Well be talking about exploration, pushing yourself to your limits, belonging, and the art of writing about a journey so vast that one book is not enough to contain it. Im including a clip from his recent film. https://youtube/watch?v=0NCDPQhSz_E
