It is just days before Hari Raya- But today is a day I cant say Im proud or very happy about. Why? Well, because I commented on a post on Facebook where the author mentioned what is so great about living in SIngapore? Naturally i said, Have you tried to make your life in Singapore better? And someone from my OWN community and race, said Imran nak Jual Obat- meaning to say im trying to be a salesman. If you see that post, youd see that there was nothing for sale- In fact, i was merely trying to imbue the idea of prosperity and effort in the minds of skeptics. There is so much skepticism about money and wealth generation and lots of personal attacks, even within the same community. And on the other hand, Ive gotten PMs saying that I should be doing more and helping more Malays to embrace entrepreneurship. Have I tried? Hell yes i have. But with the resistance to wealth generation, I am trying less often. Im beginning to believe that the path of least resistance is the best path and would allow me to reach and impact more lives. I was in Brunei and Sarawak to give a talk, and I was taken aback at the fact that less than 10% of the attendees were Bumiputeras. Skepticism and whining, wont get us places my friends. It simply wont. And im not someone who will wait forever. If i have to forge ahead, its really a case of too bad, too late for the current skeptics.
