It was the tree of knowledge of good and evil that brought man into the world as we know it. Before that moment, Adam and Eve were unaware of the world going on outside around them. All was peace and happiness. There were no known threats. Ever since then, there has been an ongoing battle between love and hate; happy and sad; cold and warm; safe and afraid. But it isnt the polar opposites in emotion that brings such terrible demise. The underlying evil that brings down all man is insecurity. It is the lack of confidence in self and distrust of others that makes people mean, greedy, deceitful and hurtful. Through our experiences our acknowledgment of evil becomes known and we are faced with a choice of how to respond. Without Jesus, many are left to resolve their problems and bring their world back into balance by their own means and many times those ways are bad. In turn, those futile efforts create within themselves a feeling of constant turmoil. The need to hide or justify or blame will always be a result of self proclamations. To the ignorant in understanding, life appears to be just a fight or struggle. Through faith, knowledge of evil does not dissipate and life circumstances appear no different on the outside. However, in times of troubles or adversity the faithful remain secure in knowing that there is no need to exhaust the goodness given in the hope of salvation through Jesus. Through faith lifes battles are faced with confidence that the challenges will be met and overcome without sacrificing the underlying sense of peace and happiness. Through faith there is no insecurity.
