Sorry, but climate actually IS weather (unless you subjectively define climate and weather in some odd, very specific, non-traditional way.) Weather and climate are the words we use to refer to the average prevailing conditions over a given area and span of time. We generally use weather for shorter spans of time and climate for longer spans, but theyre two words for the same thing. Whoever told you climate isnt weather wasnt giving you the truth. And whether the global warming advocates are willing to admit it or not, the prevailing conditions on a given day tell you something about the long-term climate. They dont tell you everything, but they tell you something.
