Its been a busy publication month for our labmate, Nathan Hall, from the UF Canine Cognition and Behavior Lab. Nathan, along with friends of the Collaboratory Kathryn Lord & Monique Udell, have a new study published in Behavioural Processes. Congrats! Working with the 3-7 week-old wolf pups at Wolf Park in Indiana, researchers investigated attachment-like behavior to human caregivers in a modified Ainsworth Strange Situation Test. While previous research showed that 16-week-old wolfs pups did not show attachment behavior like their dog counterparts, in Hall et al.s study the 3-7 week-old wolf pups did show preferential proximity seeking, contact and greeting behaviors to caregivers over strangers.
