It’s been a while since I last posted anything. Not that I have anything to post or contribute but now and again I just gotta share what’s going on in my neck of the woods. I have been busy. Yep, Stacey is without a car for now so we are sharing my car. It means we get to see her and Emmett more often and Grandpa & I love that! However, as much as I love my Stacey and my Emmett, it costs me more money! For sure! It’s all my fault and I know that. I don’t have to buy Emmett anything, he loves his Grandma anyway and he thinks his Grandpa is funny but, I can’t resist a sale or a good deal. I can’t! And if it’s for Emmett, well, I’m done for! I try not to go over board I really do..............right! CeCi likes Hello Kitty. Well, I see Hello Kitty stuff and want to buy it for her, but what saves me is most of it is for older girls, she is only one. But, fabric is another thing! Now if I would just get those cute little dresses made for her!!Stacey, Grandpa, Emmett and I went yard sale shopping on Sunday. We didn’t get to the 3rd house when I ran out of funds. But, we found some good deals and met some wonderful people. One lady had fabric for sale. all of it was clean, pressed and folded ever so nicely. And, the prices were so good, I couldn’t resist! I found some cute fabric for matching shorts for CeCi & Emmett! Or just a cute little dress for CeCi. There’s enough probably for shorts and a dress! I found some matching pink to go with the Hello Kitty fabric that I have. Now to get sewing. I talk about it but I yet haven’t started anything. I found free patterns on line for dresses & shorts so really nothing is stopping me but......me! And the fact that I have been busy with Stacey and Emmett. Geez............what to choose? Time with Emmett or sewing? I will always choose Emmett. He is getting so big. He jabbers all the time and I’m sure he is close to calling me Grandma. He is so loved. He has a lot of people that just lovies this little guy! He has his Nana, Grandma Kay, Papa, Grandpa, all his uncles and aunts plus great aunts, cousins the list is so long. So, I’m am grateful to get to spend all this time watching him grow. Just don’t like it going so fast. He is crawling and if he knows you are after him, he speeds up. Yesterday, I put him in a box with a few toys. I took some pictures of him in it. He figured out how to get out of it. He’s so smart! Hehehehe...... Stacey had a touch of food poisoning and Grandpa & I spent the day caring for her and Emmett. It was a good day, not for Stacey but Grandpa & I had fun! Poor Eli, he left for work without a lunch. When he got home, he headed for the frig. Had I known I would have had something ready for him. But, when he got home everyone was asleep. So, I hope he had some down time. I had to wake Grandpa to go home. I don’t like all this heat. I love the sun and the warm weather but it doesn’t have to be 80 or more, really! I try to get the house opened up early so that by afternoon it’s not so hot. Plus I keep a fan going. Gene doesn’t like it on all the time but knows that if we don’t keep it going, I’m not happy to be around. We had an issue with his watch the other day. OMG!! Once he has something on his mind, he doesn’t let it go. Really! His old watch died, so we pulled out his “Rams” watch, well that one died too. So, I bought him one because he was driving me nuts for a watch. Not a problem. Well, the band broke. I didn’t spend a lot of money on the watch which was a mistake. I had to find a new watch band. I bought one, brought it home, it didn’t fit. So, I figured I would take it back later. Like tomorrow. All evening he kept bugging me to get him a watch band. The next day we both went to get a new one. We thought it would fit, we brought the watch with it. But, the store wouldn’t put it on for us so we brought it home. It didn’t fit, so I had to return it and I found one that fit but I couldn’t get it on. Stacey did, backwards. It took me all evening and a lot of bugging but I finally got it off and corrected. He is now wearing his watch! But, the drama over a cheap watch!! That is how it is with Gene now. Or, maybe it’s been that way all along and I’m just now noticing it. If that’s all that bugs me about this old man, I’m pretty lucky. He’s getting to a point that he won’t wait for me to do the laundry. He starts a load himself, he doesn’t always finish it out but he does tell me that he started the laundry. Maybe we will get to where we were before all this happened, where he did all the laundry. He still thinks that he can drive again. Yet, he never takes that step to actually try, thank goodness!! That is one thing he keeps going over and over again but he hasn’t said anything about nor has he acted on it. Maybe down deep, he knows that he can’t drive again or maybe he’s a little scared to try. I’m grateful that he hasn’t tried however. He’s still a little wobbly when he walks and is still slow but he is doing so much better. I’m getting him out more and I let him take the garbage out. I do watch him to be sure he puts it in the right container but if he doesn’t I don’t say anything. At least he made the trip out to do it himself! He still thinks he wears the same size jeans as he did years ago! He only wears Levis 501 button up. Waste of money getting him any other brand, he won’t wear them. He no longer has the hernia but he does however, have a belly. I don’t know where that came from. So, he really doesn’t wear the same size but I can’t get him to try on a different size. So, I’m constantly telling him to pull up your drawers/pants. I will have to try to get a larger jeans and see if he notices it. Other than helping Stacey, playing with Emmett, procrastinating on unpacking my sewing room, sewing up dresses and shorts, we are doing pretty good. I get to spend time with Colin, Conner & CeCi too and I just lovies all my grandbabies!! I’m pretty lucky. I still have Gene and I have a wonderful daughter, great son in law, bestest grandkids and wonderful family & extended family. Yeppers, I’m complete.
