Ive been banned from every hospital in the city of Calgary (and, presumably, all of Alberta), even for essential emergency services. Why? Because Ive been prescribed the use of a medical cannabis vaporizer and have no alternative, according to the Chronic Pain Clinic and my signing MMAR doctor, and AHS has ILLEGALLY banned the use of vaporizers in its facilities, as of November 4, 2013. I was also beaten by security at Rockyview and Peter Lougheed hospitals and served No Trespassing citations (not by CPS, but security) at all the hospitals, even though I was brought to them by EMS or CPS each time save one. I have no history of violence, psychosis, mania, or addiction. Think it cant happen in your province/city? Think again: there are currently NO PROVINCIAL POLICIES REGARDING THE USE OF CANNABINOID THERAPIES, so if Alberta writes up the first, youd better believe the other provinces will follow. Help me, please, in attaining the very basic human right to essential health care that Ive been denied--in one of the richest provinces in the country, in one of the richest countries in the world.
