Ive been thinking the last couple of days about how good God is, and how good Hes been to me. Even when things were going badly, I still loved Him and knew He loved me, but things werent good. Now, things are different- sometimes He just blesses us beyond what we thought he might! His desire is to be good to everyone-and He is, as far as we allow Him to, within the limits of our free will and our behavior (He just cant bless certain actions, no matter how much we want His blessing! I went a lot of years with behavior that He couldnt bless, although He brought good out of the experience, I believe He would have preferred that I learn things by obeying instead of facing consequences...but thats what I did.) Anyway, I woke up this morning with my sweet husband- God had blessed and supernaturally healed and woven this relationship together. It is all I ever wanted in a marriage- Im so thankful for him! My children are in relationship with God- some parents go a lifetime wishing only for that, and Im blessed to be at peace with their relationship with God. I have been on the other side of all these blessings, struggling, praying, crying, wondering where I went wrong, how could I change things, etc., and Im so grateful that Im seeing the faithfulness of God- even though some things might take years, or even decades. Seeing my dad come to the Lord in his late 60s, a few years before his death, was one of the best gifts I could have ever had. If youre trusting God for something, dont give up! He can make things work out better than youve imagined, and if for some reason they dont turn out as you wished, He still has good plans for you, and will envelope you with His love. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jer 29:11 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal 6:9
