Ive read the Bible both theologically and historically/critically - TopicsExpress

Ive read the Bible both theologically and historically/critically and Ive studied the history of the New Testament in detail. That said, I like posing questions that force believers to actually think about why the believe what they believe. Heres one to think about. The answers I received range from only New Testament commandments count today to all commandments are still in effect. This is illustrative of a fundamental flaw in theology, namely that all answers no matter how contradictory, with enough interpretation, are correct. Question: There are 613 commandments in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) including the famous 10 in Exodus 20. Many Christian apologists rationalize away the immoral or absurd commandments by saying they were “historic” or “intended only for ancient Israel,” etc. How do you determine which commandments are worthy of keeping and which can be written off?
