Ive seen many posts complaining about the ice bucket challenge so I thought Id shed a little light on why this challenge is so important to those suffering from ALS and their families! ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as Lou Gehrigs Disease. This disease attacks the motor neurons in the brain eventually causing the loss of motor function and eventually paralysis. While to some watching people dump ice over their head may not seem like a way to help, it IS a way to raise awareness for a disease that so many people have no knowledge of! The ice bucket challenge has raised over $62.5 MILLION dollars so far!!! THATS AMAZING!!!
