Ive spent the past 22 years biased against the album Wish. Disintegration in 1989 was the true pinnacle both for The Cure, and for alternative music. I finished high school and started college in 1990, Nevermind came out in the fall of 1991, you didnt have to stay up until all hours to watch 120 Minutes anymore, and hardcore was dead. EVERYONE loved Wish and I hated everyone, so I refused to listen to it. But Janice, who was a baby then, just sent me a text that said Its Friday, Im in love. And Wish really is a good record. So its time to let go of my spite and finally add it to my library. (Achtung Baby still sucks, though, dont even get me started on that.)
