JUSTICE FOR ANRIA G. ESPIRITU 1987-2014 BULACAN, PHILIPPINES-The lifeless body of a young woman was found in a rice field in Calumpit, Bulacan last August 14, 2014. she has been raped before being killed through multiple stab wounds on her neck. family members were able to identify the woman as Anria “Anne” Galang Espiritu, 26 years old, a freelance model. Anria was raped before killed for reasons that they saw her underwear lying a few feet away from the body, with traces of blood come from her. She was found face down, no underwear, and totally lifeless. Police speculate that the chain found close to the body was the one used to strangle the victim. A screwdriver was found as well, believed to have been used to stab her neck and nape. With the current situation of the body, all battered and bloodied, Police say it is possible that more than one person raped and killed her. Later, Forensic investigation revealed there are four types of semen recovered from the victim during the autopsy. A witness states that she was last seen August 14,2014 around 2:00 a.m., about to ride a jeepney on her way home from a party. After quite some time, family members were not able to contact her anymore. Meanwhile, Around 12:00 noon, August 18, 2014, a Jeepney driver and his wife came to the wake of Anria claiming to have dropped her at some point along another barangay wherein the victim was said to have rode on a tricycle. This information would’ve been a breakthrough for the family hoping for more information. As the driver and wife left the premises, family and friends noticed the body of the driver having bruises and scratches. This then raised their doubts into thinking he might be involved. The driver and his wife returned at around 3:00 p.m., only to be picked up by the chief of police. The driver explained that the scratches were caused by a fight he and his wife had earlier today. The driver was later identified as Elmer Hoson, 45 years old. Wife Delta Dionisio claims that she heard somebody calling out to the girl that was why she looked over her shoulder since they were up front, and was able to identify the woman. But when Hoson was taken into custody, he now claims that his wife was admiring Anria’s beauty that is why Dionisio remembers her face. Contradicting statements are raising more doubts in the police’ side, but at the same time putting them in a pinch. Two other suspects were arrested and held for interrogation named Rammy Diarca and Melvin Ulam. Her wake will be at her residence in Iba o Este Calumpit, Bulacan. Interment will be on August 23 2014 at 2:00pm. Family members and friends of the victim are hoping for a faster process in solving the case and are calling to people who might have information and haven’t come out yet. Let us offer a quiet moment and a silent prayer for the eternal repose of her soul.
