Jennifer shares: Looking for advice. My son is 3, turning 4 in December, on the spectrum. He only wants a bottle at home for his milk and juice. He attends prek at school where I send his lunch and I send a sippy cup. Some days he will drink his juice at school from a sippy other days he wont. I try to give him a sippy cup at home and he refuses to drink out of it. He will go on a major meltdown until I give in and give him a bottle. The longest Ive been able To go before giving in is 2 hours. I hate to deny him drink when I know hes thirsty but I know I need to get him off the bottle. Therapy is working to get him to drink out of a regular cup or juice pouch but were a ways from him mastering that skill. Has anyone else gone through this?? How long did it take to transition your little one from the bottle to sippy for good?? Any tips or advice would be great!
