Jensen had a pretty good night! He rested very peacefully, aside from saying off and all done Im his sleep, Hes still dehydrated and puffy, basically he has fluid in all the wrong places. We just drew labs and will make changes to his diuretics based on those. He had been asking to eat and was eating a few bites of applesauce slowly and tolerating it well but when we gave him the fruit pouch he sucked it down like a mad man and immediately threw it all back up. It obviously hurts to throw up violently right after OHS and he was pretty angry so he got some morphine to help with the pain.. His chest was pretty soaked so I worked on getting the bandage off while his nurse was changing out his bedding. He is so bruised and his skin is irritated all over his body. This kid is so amazing for having been through a war and is still excited when he sees his giraffes! He is a little down from his usual happy self, but he is slowly getting more and more like normal. While he was sleeping he had his blood drawn and his eyes popped open as they were finishing up and he said woke up! And he was excited that he had an Elmo band aid on his arm ;) Todays goal is to get him moving so we can get some fluid off. Please pray he doesnt have too much pain as we are moving him around and that he is able to pee a lot today!
