Jeremiah 17:5-8 Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good to come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhibited salt land." "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by the water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of the drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit." Lord-God, I feel like I am reading about our current city, state, country and world when I read the book of Jeremiah. Please LORD, reveal our wickedness to each of us. Shed a light on the evil decisions that each of us make on a daily basis. Reveal to each of us the error in the decisions we are making as we call sin ok and turn away from YOU. LORD-GOD, please transform our world, country, state, and city and make it start inside the heart of me. Forgive me LORD because I am not even worthy to receive a glance from you. But I beg of you Lord to reveal my sin to me today and help me to turn towards YOU and your ways. Give me the strength to stand on YOUR word even if it means changing something that I felt was ok to do or say my entire life. Lord, our hearts are deceitful and sick and only you can give us the heart transplant that we need. Give us YOUR heart LORD. Amen.
