Job posting: JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for reviewing loans in a pre-funding production stage by analyzing loan documents, including application, credit, data entry, income, assets, appraisals and disclosures to ensure the loan meets company quality requirements and is compliant with federal and state laws. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES): 1. Analyze loan documentation for accuracy and completeness to assess credit worthiness, value, and adherence to agency, investor, and regulatory requirements. 2. Select loans for review based on the results of risk assessment analysis. 3. Prepare spreadsheets from compiled analyzed data and deficiencies. 4. Execute re-verifications for employment, assets, credit and occupancy. 5. Examine appraisals to ensure the evaluation has been completed in line with company guidelines and requirements. 6. Analyze loan applicant income, assets, occupancy, and credit, and ensure data entry matches, calculations agree, and AUS findings are met. 7. Assist in other risk assessments and perform related responsibilities as required or assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Equivalent Education/Experience • Technical Knowledge-Detailed knowledge of company and investor underwriting requirements. • Analytical Skills-Solid analytical and conceptual skills, especially as required in analyzing credit data, file integrity, income, assets, and loan file data. • Computer Skills-Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including spreadsheets, database, word processing, and loan origination software. • Interpersonal Skills-Poised and professional in appearance and manner with a good work ethic. Equivalent Education/Experience • At least 4-5 years of experience in mortgage industry as a mortgage underwriter including Conventional, FHA, VA, and RD. DE or SAR certification preferred. • Graduation from high school. SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS: None.
