Jodie Jones Manasco posted: The facility I work for orthodedic surgeons have decided they have a need for an assistant in the OR everyday. someone to hold retractors. So the facility has created the position. It is going to use the PCT (orderly).they will be taught to hold retactors, scrub, gown and glove with hoods. Are there facilities out there doing this?? What are your thoughts on this??? Someone with no medical training scrubbing and participate in surgery???
