Joseph’s older brothers became so jealous of him that they sold him into slavery and tricked their father into believing that he had been killed by a wild beast. (Gen. 37:4, 28, 31-33) Jehovah proved to be with Joseph. In time, Joseph became Egypt’s prime minister—second in power only to Pharaoh. When a severe famine brought Joseph’s brothers to Egypt, they did not even recognize him in his official Egyptian attire.
