Journey towards Volunteering -a experience shared by sampath Raghav volunteer from TCS. First and foremost, I would like to Thank Ivolunteer for giving me an opportunity to take part in Volunteering service in Rainbow Homes. In Brief, I am going to write about my wonderful experience during my visit. Moment I reached the Centre, I was able to see lots of colorful children playing in and around with zeal. My interaction with the fellow members of the centre gave me an idea about the children and their present living. Then I conveyed that, each and every child is unique, so give equal importance to all the young ones to develop and express their talents in this competitive world. This is a great opportunity for me to lend hands for their Upliftment and growth. Certain activities I conducted to keep them fresh as well as learn with passion. If money is Lost, you can earn it by working hard again If you lose Education, some important part is lost If you lose your character, your entire life is gone - Woodrow Wilson, Former American president Above statement is a famous quote by Former American president Woodrow Wilson, to show the importance of character, I started my session with moral stories about famous personalities to inculcate good values to the young children. I narrated them the life history of Mother Teresa and Stephen hawking in brief and explained the characteristic traits they had in their living. At the end of the session, few students were asked to spell out one value they got admired from these two persons and implement the same in real life. After giving them few minutes of break, proceeded to concentrate on Education, the most important part in our life. Each and every student should have strong foundation in Mathematics which will be useful in their later part of the career. So I move forwarded to teach them the basics of triangles as per the content mentioned in their textbook and asked them to implement it practically. All Students will get excited if they hear the name Game, Last part of the session was allocated for Vocabulary game, it will encourage as well as learn few words in vocabulary. The Game is about writing a Name, Place, Animal, Thing which comes to their mind immediately for a particular alphabet mentioned by the master who conducts it. This will provide a strong verbal standard to all the students to use them in their communication as well as in writing skills. Overall, my journey towards volunteering kick started in an excellent way and I would like to continue my service by utilizing the time given to me in an efficient manner.
