Just Posted this on Kentons Place & Kentons Place Breast Milk Bank & Community Education Center walls. In response to a recent message left on our page: It has come to my attention that there is confusion and concern among members of the community, since we have Posted information about our building mate and benefactor Kids Kingdom Infant and Toddler Care.. Lets clear up the confusion.. 1. Yes there is a daycare going in to the same building as Kenton’s Place! a. Community members who donated auction items and yard sale items received a slip stating the auction was to benefit both organizations to pay rent to open Kentons Place. 2. What is the purpose of a daycare in the same building??? The day cares main purpose is community service. This supporting Kentons Place, through donating the profits to help Kentons Place Stay afloat and support the community a. This was also explained to members who donated items. The childcare center must be up and running to continue to support Kenton’s Place without us constantly seeking monetary donations and sponsorship from the community. 2. Where is the fundraising money going?? The money is in use to renovate Kenton’s place and make it a welcoming place for all. Thank’s to your kind and generous donation’s we were able to do the necessary renovations without needing a loan. We needed to get our location up to state and federal standards for serving the community, thank’s to you and our landlord who has taken fantastic care of the property, this hasn’t been too hard. 3. Not receiving invitations to the auction and other events: a. Event Advertising: The auction as well as other fundraising events were advertised on Facebook, in the paper, on community boards etc.. Dates were provided to those who donated items, on the donation ship. Supporters were told where the events would be at the time of donation. I personally picked up or received donations from the community and thanked each donator verbally; I also stated that you will all be invited to a special event solely for the supporters, a VIP Reception. 4. I never received a thank you: I did send thank you cards out, (please remember we are a non-profit in the application process) We do not have any money and the thank you cards came out of my personal finances. If You did not receive your thank you card, I apologize, and request you fill out the form linked to this post, so I can ensure the invitation to the VIP Reception reaches you. I did thank all of you many times at time of receiving your donation as well.. Please Let me clarify any confusion.. Kentons Place goal and purpose is the same, as it was when I met you seeking donations to help support our new found home in Altoona. Our mission is to support parents and families of loss, to support pregnant and nursing moms, to provide support groups and other services in support of the family. We are still very much so HAPPENING!!! We are active , we are already supporting a number of families in the community. The daycare is going in to support this organization, and we hope you all support us in the way we found to ask less money from the community in that fashion. We want to help you all out there. Reminder If you donated items, you should have received a thank you card, and receipt in the mail.
