Just a random observation: Question Authority. A simple statement, but one that many of those who came of age in the 60’s believed: Do not follow in lockstep, especially if it seemed as if something was wrong: QUESTION Authority. Authority was seen as the one in charge, and those that did the one-in-charge’s bidding. They questioned the Authority of LBJ to wage the war in SE Asia, They questioned the Authority of Nixon to escalate it, They questioned the Authority of Nixon to surveil and listen in on his enemies, and to lie about it, They questioned the Authority of Ford to pardon Nixon, They did not question the Authority of Carter to cause a regime change in Iran, and look what happened: our embassy was invaded and 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days, (cnn/2013/09/15/world/meast/iran-hostage-crisis-fast-facts/index.html) They constantly questioned Reagan’s Authority, They questioned the Authority of GHW Bush to take back Kuwait, and prevented the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 1991, They loved the Clintons and defended them against anyone who dared question their Authority, They constantly questioned GW Bush’s Authority, They never question Obama’s Authority, and anyone who dares to must be a racist, or anarchist, or terrorist, or a right wing zealot, maybe a fascist, a sore loser, and so on, however Hasn’t Obama somewhat exceeded his Authority at times? As the LEADER anything that occurs on his watch is his responsibility: just a few simple words and phrases: Drone attacks, NSA Spying on Americans, escalation of war, inflation and recession (sorry “Bush’s fault”, right?), special privileges for special friends, unemployment that is way too high, AG Eric Holder and so many screw ups in the DoJ… So, how come anyone who dares question his Authority on anything is called vile names, demonized by the press and vilified? Question Authority? Only if you choose your target carefully.
