Just a reminder in case people still to yet to do it, please leave your comments regarding the appeal on the Planning Inspectorates website TODAY. It is really easy and simple to do so. Galliard have submitted two separate appeals to the government’s Planning Inspectorate; one concerning the refusal of permission to demolish the stadium, and the other against the refusal of the housing application. The Planning Inspectorate will determine the appeals together:... 1) against refusal of permission to demolish the stadium Appeal no: 2210121 2) against refusal of the housing application Appeal no: 2211765 Representations must be received by the Planning Inspectorate by 11th March 2014. All representations need to quote the Inspectorate’s references APP/G3110/A/14/2210121 and 2211765. You can also access the appeal via the Planning Portal website by entering 2210121 or 2211765 in the case reference here: pcs.planningportal.gov.uk/pcsportal/casesearch.asp It is best to put these in your own words. It really comes down to how much you value the stadium and why you want to keep it. Relevant points are: • This is a much valued and much-used community facility: for dance, karting, motorcycle training, church and social activity. • There is real enthusiasm from a dedicated fan-base to get greyhound racing and speedway back. • There are serious commercial operators on-record as wanting to invest in the Stadium and have a full range of activities there. • The Stadium has been classified as a Heritage Asset. • The land is zoned in the local plan for recreation, not for housing. • The buildings on site include good quality modern facilities; even those not in current use require only a bit of refurbishment to be brought back into use.
