Just actually read my fathers death certificate and the doctor who signed it put in the WRONG CAUSE OF DEATH. Apparently he just goes through a pile of death certificates and signs them. This will have to be changed immediately and the state is notoriously bad about issuing even regular certificates in a timely manner. I must have a valid Death Certificate in order to begin probate, and certainly wont have it for my long-scheduled meeting with the probate attorney. Also got a lovely letter from an attorney (wont say retained by whom, but since that person refused to see Pops before his death, this person can just KMA multiple times!). The attorney basically said Im sincerely sad about your fathers death...now dont you think probate should get started NOW? This after I was up night and day for two weeks living in Pops apartment medicating him and staying with him while he gasped for air, moved everything out of his apartment with NO help, took care of all details regarding cremation, ***tried*** to get some sleep and deal with the loss of my father. It has been 6 weeks. What happened to letting people have time to grieve???
