Just curious if any of you are as upset as I am about the poor implementation of common core. As a mathematician and engineer I am happy to see the schools apply more rigor to ensuring all students have basic competency in mathematical science. However, as a parent I am disappointed in the manner this is being taught by individuals who are not subject matter experts in mathematics and really dont understand the reason why they are focusing on the mechanics. We have a crisis in education in this nation as we are not producing enough STEM professionals yet we dont seem to get that cc is no more than putting a bandage on a knife wound.
