Just finished watching Inglourious Basterd (it only took me 4 years to catch up but what else to do at 4 in the morning when one cannot sleep). I am not a fan of Quentin Tarantino because I cannot understand or like how he justifies condemning violence with a countless display of violent acts... I mean how many head decapitations one can take in a movie...He is a great craftsman no doubt but when I have to close my eyes and my ears more than twice in a movie then there is a problem for me anyway. I was curious to see Christoph Waltz and indeed he steals every moment in the movie as the Jew Hunter. I never thought too much of Brat Pitt neither (other than that he is gorgeous) but surprisingly enough he is a delight watching him here as the Nazi Hunter from Tennessee (when he is not killing, scalping, cutting people’s heads and such that is…). This movie also presents maybe the funniest imitation of Adolf Hitler ever (Sorry Mr. Chaplin, till today I thought your Dictator was the funniest one but not anymore). So great acting, great craftsmanship well thought out story but the nonstop Tarantino type display of violence just not my cup of tea…
